Today we made photo stops along the right of way in downtown Altoona and Lilly. We had afternoon rain showers so we made our way to Crazy Train Hobbies in Altoona. This train shop share its space with Keith’s Country & Western and Music Emporium. They have a decent selection of HO and N scale items. It’s worth a stop!

I’ve been trying to get Norfolk Southern heritage unit the “Pennsylvania”. I’ve missed it two times since being here in Altoona. Looking at the Heritage Unit APP it was spotted heading westbound in Palmyra, PA at 6:14PM (NS 63V “the trash train”). I thought tonight was going to be the night I would catch it. So we decided to stake it out in downtown Altoona. Not knowing when the locomotive will roll into town we decided to call it quits at 10PM. So needless to say yet again I have missed the “Pennsylvania”.

Tomorrow we hope to catch the Virginian again it’s heading eastbound out of Chicago. Saturday will be our last final full day in the area.
